Why do we need a neighbourhood association?

We hear this question a lot. Neighbourhood associations in general serve many purposes: They are a formal, continuous way to organize a neighbourhood for better communication and to pull ressources together as a community for events and when issues arise.

For our community in particular, it is needed because we are in full growth mode and most of us seem to want to have a say on where we go from here. The City of Surrey has been very receptive to communicating with neighbourhood associations and if we don't want to be left out of the conversation, it is important to exist and to pursue the growth of our community association with our voice being heard.
